Newsletter February 2010 Volume 24 Issue 2.  They Shall Walk org news and updates.

They Shall Walk is giving the gift of walking with your help.  New volunteers and interns have joined the team.  Welcom: Sam, Vicky, Matt, Borislav, Eric, David 3 (We have three Davids now), Kurt, Marlin, Carl and Rachell.  We also welcome back James.   In March there will be a team of ME students working on a proect for They Shall Walk.  Four of them are working on a Senior project.  They will be working on the lifter system for the LIFESUIT that allows paralyzed people to do things in addtion to walking.  The demonstration we use at They Shall Walk is the RoboGames.  We lift weights with the LIFESUIT.  The ME students from the University of Washington will be developing a new lifter system.

Each donation of $50 makes you eligible for one massage certificate.  Give the gift of walking and get a one hour massage as a thank you. Welcome new Event Outreach Director  Vicky McFadden msvickybee@gmail.com (206) 422-5164, she will be heading up a Walk & Rollathon in Issaquah, some hikes around the pacific northwest, selling entertainment books, as well as helping promote the mission of They Shall Walk.  One of her pet projects is the "They Shall Walk and Roll Across America Tour".  If you are interested in helping with a walk and roll across America contact Vicky msvickybee@gmail.com (206) 422-5164.  Sponsors and participants welcome.  They Shall Walk is supported by individual donors and sponsors.  You can help, contact Vicky, become a sponsor or participate in one of our great upcoming events.

Wheelchairs, Bikes, Scooter, Strollers, Skates, and Feet are all welcome at our event.  Come show your support for They Shall Walk by walking and rolling for this event.  Register now and gather your team to raise money and awarness for They Shall Walk.   

    Welcome Undergrads and Graduate Student Interns. Eight college students were accepted into our Internship Programs this quarter. They will be working closely with Professors, Project Engeeneers, and They Shall Walk Staff to learn valuable skills  for successful careers. We want to thank you for helping They Shall Walk in our mission to give the gift of walking and raise awareness for the plight of Disabled People.
 
Many of those students will present at research at conferences such as the Undergraduate Research Symposium May 21, 2010 (Seattle Times Article)  They Shall Walk Staff will be recruting students from this symposium and other conferences.  Contact the office if you are interested in an internship.

You are invited to accompany They Shall Walk on our trip to Vellore India hosted by the Rotary Club of Vellore http://www.rotaryclubofvellore.org/. Trip is planned for June 28 - July 7 2010. The CMC in India will be one of the first sites for installation of the LIFEUSIT.
 
They Shall Walk in India Trip Schedule Update: Monty is scheduled to speak at the Rotary Club of Vellore India Friday July 2, 2010. The Rotary Club of Vellore is partnering with The Rotary Club of Shoreline and several other clubs around the world. If you are member of a Rotary Club, you can invite Monty to speak at your club, conference, or meeting.
