They Shall Walk to Visit Echo Lake Elementary School Science Night with a real Iron Man Suit.
Monty K Reed, the founder of They Shall Walk, who is recovering from a parachute accident and paralysis, will be visiting the Echo Lake Elementary School Science Night on January 27, 2011. He will be wearing the LIFESUIT robotic exoskeleton that is a real life version of the DC comics Iron Man suit. The LIFESUIT is a powered brace that allows paralyzed people to walk, dance and jump.
On Thursday evening January 27, 2011 at 6:30pm Monty K Reed and other volunteers from the local medical research company: They Shall Walk, will visit the Echo Lake Elementary School, 19345 Wallingford Ave. N, Shoreline, 98133. During the science night Monty K Reed will demonstrate the LIFESUIT robotic exoskeleton at 7pm and take questions from the crowd. Monty K Reed was paralyzed in 1986 during a training exercise with the US Army Airborne Ranges from joint base Lewis McCord. He has been in recovery for two decades. Technically he is a quadriplegic because he has limited mobility in all four limbs. In spite of that Monty, has begun rehab skiing and biking to help improve his health.
Show your support for They Shall Walk by donating online www.theyshallwalk.org . Monty K Reed and the volunteers for They Shall Walk do not charge schools anything for the $2500 program they are putting on that night. You can also make a donation to the Echo Lake PTA to support local schools.
