How Will Quadriplegics control the LIFESUIT?
Back in 1986 Human Machine Interface (AKA BCI, Brain Computer Interface. HMI, Human Machine Interface) and many other names... When I was in the hospital paralyzed I learned about a research lab in Japan that had mapped the brain so you and I could think and type. In 1986 you and I could spend about five minutes thinking to get one letter to show up on the screen. Today at the University of Washington the ideas I had that were considered "Fantasy" and "SciFi" are now reality. Please check out the website here http://www.medgear.org/page/7/ also check out Nature and Science magazines. From the early development of the Brain Interface to the complicated Prosthetic controls of the "BrainGate" we at TheyShallWalk.org are keeping our eyes open to new tech that can help control the LIFESUIT. When paralyzed persons climb into the LIFESUIT they will be able to control the Robotic Suit by the speed of thought. We will plug in the Brain Interface control to the LIFESUIT and paralyzed persons will only need to think about walking and they will be able to walk again. Do a google search on "brain gate" and more to find out what others have been working on.
