Shadow Zone by Iris Johansen (shortlink for twitter and facebook http://theyshallwalk.org/?p=786 )
This was a typical Iris Johansen so if you like her stuff you will like this one too. I enjoyed it. It was new characters, new situations and new relationships. This is a sequel to Silent Thunder (2008) which I have not read. I will go back and read it now though.
The secret that doomed Marinth’s civilization to decline before the killer wave is still present and could in the wrong hands be a threat to hundreds of millions of people. As malevolent armsmerchant Vincent Gadiare and his femme-fatale lover, Anna Devareau, maneuver to get their hands on Marinth’s secret, Hannah Bryson, world-class submarine designer, gathers her own legion of experts, including her love interest, enigmatic assassin Nicholas Kirov.
The character development is not great in this although relationships develop. I am assuming you get to know the characters more fully in the previous book.
All in all a good read. I recommend it!
