India: Hospital Tour to Set Up Medical Trials: Vellore, Hubballi, Villupuram and Chennai. When will we go? It is up to you.
We have team members who would like to come along on the trip. My health has been on a downward spiral for the last couple of years and I am just now starting to get some relief. I normally would volunteer to go on this trip alone, but this time I will only go if I have at least one support team member going.
For each person it will take about $2500 for the trip, airfare, accommodations, meals, taxi and rental car. You can decide when we go on this trip. We would love to go in August but it is up to you. You can make a donation on line or mail donations to They Shall Walk at 6201 15th ave NW #542, Seattle, WA 98107
The 2009 trip should include: Monty, Florence, Stan, Ezra, Clell, Charlie, Doug, Allan, James and Ron. $25,000 is what we need. We could go with a skeleton crew for the trip. The minimal trip would include: Monty, Ron, James. = $7,500.
So far we have $100 committed to the 2009 tirp and $1000 committed to the 2010 trip.

Another stop will be "Equip India" in Hubballi
visit site http://equipindia.org/
We will visit the office where they help paralyzed and other disabled to live a more normal life.
One of the stops will be at the INDIAN CHRISTIAN MISSION CENTRE (ICMC). I met Dr Jay at a Rotary of Shoreline lunch meeting last week. He and his daughter have a great humanitarian project with the orphans in India. I think he said they have 3000 children.
visit his site http://www.icmcindia.org/
We will also visit Dr Jay's Daughter who is an MD who works with the disabled kids and to orphaned baby girls. You see, in India when a poor family has a baby boy they smile because the boy will work hard and when he is ready to be married the family of his new wife will pay his family a dowry of: money, livestock, jewels, land, goods and produce.
When a baby girl is born to a poor family they are very often sad. They will kill the baby and toss it in the garbage. The ministry is there at the government hospitals with an "Amnesty Basinet" that allows family's to leave the baby girl with no negative or legal ramifications.

We will also visit the Hospital in Hubballi where we hope to expand the "They Shall Walk" project in 2011.
CMC Hospital http://www.cmch-vellore.edu/t_main.asp
We will tour the hospital. Then we will do an In Service Training for the Doctors, Therapists, and the Nursing Staff about the LIFEUSUIT and LIFESUIT Therapy.

We will visit the school of nursing and tour the facility.
While in town we will meet with Rotarians in Vellore. They will be helping to recruit the paralyzed persons for the medical trial.
Please note that I do have a learning disability and can not spell because that part of my brain is broken. Even with a spell checker I miss stuff so please contact me if you see some spelling or gramer errors. monty@theyshallwalk.org Edits welcome.
